So, Who Is Behind Cranky Tees?
Hi, I'm Toni.
I'm the owner, CEO, designer, order fulfillment department, marketing team, web developer, and artist behind Cranky Tees.
Basically, if something happens at Cranky Tees, there is a pretty good chance I'm involved.
Cranky Tees started as a creative side gig. I originally started making T-shirts for my kids, their events, and their sports teams. Somewhere along the way, that little hobby turned into something much bigger.
Today, Cranky Tees is my way of creating fun, unusual, and ridiculously comfortable apparel for people who aren't afraid to show a little personality.
It All Starts With an Idea
Before there is a shirt, there is an idea.
Sometimes it's something funny.
Sometimes it's weird.
Sometimes it's inspired by the outdoors, animals, adventure, faith, family, or just a random thought that absolutely needed to become a T-shirt.
That's part of the fun.
Cranky Tees was built around celebrating the strange, the weird, and the wonderfully unusual. Your clothes are one more way to show the world exactly who you are.
So if a design makes you laugh, makes you say "Yep, that's me," or makes someone across the room stare at your shirt, we're probably doing something right.
Designing the Cranky Stuff
Once an idea makes the cut, it's time to turn it into an actual design.
This is where the artist side of Cranky Tees takes over.
I work on graphics, colors, layouts, fonts, and all the little details that turn an idea into something you actually want to wear.
Some designs are simple.
Some are detailed.
Some are a little ridiculous.
And honestly, that's exactly how we like it.
The goal isn't to make another boring shirt.
The goal is to create something that feels like you.
Then Comes the Printing
One of the things that makes Cranky Tees different is the printing process.
Many of our tees use sublimation printing, a process where the ink becomes part of the fabric instead of sitting on top of it.
The result?
A super soft print with vibrant, full-color graphics and no thick, heavy layer of ink sitting on your shirt.
Our signature tees use soft, lightweight fabrics that are comfortable enough for everyday wear and give the designs that vintage-inspired look Cranky customers love.
For certain designs and darker garments, we may use other printing methods when they make more sense for the artwork and shirt.
It's all about getting the right result for the design.
Every Shirt Is Made to Order
This is one of the biggest parts of the Cranky Tees process.
Your shirt isn't just pulled from a giant warehouse shelf and tossed into a box.
Each shirt is made to order.
That means your order becomes part of the production process once you place it.
It takes a little more time and a little more hands-on work, but it also means we're creating your shirt specifically for you.
No giant piles of random shirts sitting around waiting for someone to buy them.
Just good shirts being made one order at a time.
The Cranky Quality Check
Before your order heads out the door, there's another important step.
Checking everything.
Is the design right?
Does the shirt look good?
Is the size correct?
Does everything look like it should?
Because nobody wants to open their package and discover that their awesome new shirt somehow became a completely different awesome new shirt.
We want you to open that package and immediately think:
Yep. This is Cranky.
Then We Pack It Up
Once your order is ready, it gets packaged up and prepared for its next adventure.
And yes, this part is still handled by the same person behind the designs, website, marketing, printing, and everything else.
